Works in Progress??
I have a slew of things that I am working on/need to do. I just have a hard time finding the time and I am still on mat leave (for only one more month ) Time will be a little more scare once I return to work. So things to do/in the works…
1. I need to do another baby quilt for my little squirt. Similar to the one I did (see here) for my older little guy. For my round in the quilting bee I am a part of, I have requested the blocks to be the garden fence pattern in the colours of the kids room. I plan to follow the tutorial found at Hyacinth Quilt Designs.. I can not wait to get started on this quilt when my blocks come.
2. As part of another quilt bee, I will be making a block or 2 (unsure as the material is being mailed out to everyone). This quilt is being organized by a lovely lady, in a community I am a part of, to donate to a hospital in memory of a little baby that didn’t make it. The quilt that will be made will be using reds, blacks and whites and will look like this.
4. My little beaver has been going to town chewing up the crib (my older son never did this). I am going to use leftover fabric from an old bed sheet (which I already repurposed into a crib sheet) and follow a tutorial from Pens and Needles (which I found searching Pinterest). I really need to get going on this as the longer I wait, the more he chews
5. I have to get going on making the growth chart for the boys. I went to a sewing/craft show and saw this cute growth chart. They were selling the kit to make the chart but being a newbie I said no I will just take the book (Art To Heart -Curiosities & Mischief by Nancy Halvorsen) and get my own fabrics. I didn’t realize at the time it was a panel for the chart. I have since ordered the panel and now have to get the rest of the fabric to complete the chart. It is just so time consuming searching for fabric online and well, time is a little pressed lately. I will get to this though!
Well that is it for my sewing list for now (I think). On top of that I am getting ready for my 5K race on March 24th and will be signing up for a running clinic (3 days a week) as well as my other gym classes and workouts. Going back to work April 17th. No wonder time goes so fast, there is not enough!
